INDIAN SCHOOL MUSCAT COMMEMORATES 77TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

As the sun rose on August 15, 2023, the vibrant nation of India came alive with an overwhelming sense of pride and patriotism as it commemorated its 77th Independence Day. This was indeed a momentous occasion for the multitude of Indian diaspora in Oman. In tune with the traditions, Indian School Muscat celebrated the Independence Day with grandeur, reverence and patriotic fervour. The event was a vibrant showcase of unity, diversity, and the rich cultural heritage of India, highlighting the significance of this historic day.













The auspicious occasion commenced with the rendition of National Anthem led by the school choir. The chief guest for this special day was Mr. Sharafdeen Yoosaf, Convener, Indian School Muscat Management Committee. The esteemed members of the school management committee, the Principal Dr Rajeev Kumar Chauhan, Vice Principals and other dignitaries attended the function. The Head Boy extended a cordial welcome to the august gathering.
Commemorating the sanctity of this auspicious day, the Chief Guest of the day, Mr. Sharafdeen Yoosaf, Convener, School Management Committee, Indian School Muscat read out the excerpts from the address of the President of India to the nation on the eve of 77th Independence Day. The chief guest extended his warm wishes to everyone on this solemn occasion.













The programme was marked by various cultural performances that enthralled the audience. The melodious rendition of the patriotic song, 'MERA BHARAT MAHAN' which was sung in 8 different languages stirred emotions and evoked a sense of pride among the attendees. The atmosphere was charged with a sense of patriotism and solidarity, as the digital presentation titled "VEER GATHA" unfolded in front of the audience.
The highlight of the cultural extravaganza was a ballet 'LEHRA DO', which served as a poignant reminder of the countless sacrifices made by freedom fighters who dreamt of an independent India.













The 77th Indian Independence Day celebration at Indian School Muscat left everyone with a sense of pride and unity, reinforcing the importance of preserving India's hard-earned independence. The event not only paid homage to the sacrifices of the past but also ignited a renewed sense of commitment among the youth to contribute to a brighter future for the nation.
